“While My Child is Away” by Edie Melson

In “While My Child is Away” author and parent Edie Melson brings a special perspective into our role as parents. This book contains a collection of devotions, prayers for our children, and even prayers for ourselves, as parents. Edie’s writing demonstrates an abundance of love and grace. The devotions are based on a life well lived as both a woman and mother. The honesty she shares with the reader is refreshing, encouraging, and inspiring. The prayers are reflective of one who walks with and recognizes the voice of Almighty God.

Written primarily to mothers, this book is equally appropriate for fathers, as well. I think this book belongs on the nightstand of every Christian parent. Its content is timeless and worthy of repeated readings and referencing. I thoroughly enjoyed every word.

With that, I award this book with a 5-Star Review, and wholeheartedly recommend this book to every home. I think you will be abundantly blessed by the content and the power of the Holy Spirit that lies behind every word.

I received an Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) of this book from Worthy Publishing Company, in exchange for a timely and honest review. There are no other expectations or future benefits between myself and the publisher or author. This review appears on Goodreads.com, Amazon.com, and my blog, jonreviewsbooks1.wordpress.com.

Thank you and happy reading.
